Etteplan and Inission Lohja – The secret behind a 20-year partnership

Etteplan is an international group with more than 3,300 technology specialists who design circuit boards, electronic products and production testers. An essential part of the design projects also includes manufacturing, and this is where Inission Lohja becomes involved. With finished design files as a basis, Inission Lohja handles production within a specified time frame.

– We turn to Inission Lohja when we need electronic prototypes and circuit boards. We have been doing this for 20 years. With about a dozen completed projects per year, we have made a long and successful journey together, says Etteplan’s Business Director Tero Leppänen.

There is no time to waste
The most important thing for Etteplan is the time schedule. Manufacturing must be done rapidly and without errors. Even a day’s delay in schedule can be critical.

– With Inission’s help, we can offer our customers fast prototypes, which is a competitive advantage for us. We have a well-functioning collaboration based on flexibility. Over the years this has led to refined processes to become as efficient as possible, without unnecessary delays.

Tero Leppänen continues:
– The projects will not decrease in the future, that is for sure. On the contrary, we will certainly benefit from the entire Inission Group’s strengths and capabilities. Our goal is continuing to grow, and we think that the collaboration with Inission is interesting.

The secret ingredient to a long partnership?
According to Leppänen, open and honest dialogue has been the key in the collaboration between Etteplan and Inission Lohja. The cooperation has been fluent. Etteplan’s purchasing personnel and Inission’s manufacturing team keep in touch on daily basis, and the development of operations together has been continuous. Matters related to collaboration are raised fairly, whether it is about the content of the work, quality issues or schedule. Lessons have been learned, their root causes have been clarified and activities have been developed so that similar ones can be avoided in the future.

So the secret is not just an ingredient, but a whole recipe for success.

Quality is the number one priority for the international electronics giant Murata

Murata is an international technology company in Helsinki with approximately 1,200 employees. With a self-developed 3D MEMS technology, the company develops and manufactures accelerometers, inclinometers and gyro sensors used in the automotive industry and medtech. Inission Lohja is one of the company’s suppliers. Eva Sundberg, Senior buyer at Murata, explains why they over the years have chosen to deepen their collaboration with Inission Lohja.

-The collaboration between Murata and Inission began when we were looking for a partner who could offer everything from assembly to testing, in one place. Initially, we collaborated on a smaller scale, but soon we realized that the collaboration worked well and now the partnership has been going on for several years.

Quality is the number one priority
In Murata’s offer, there is no room for error. Thus, quality is the company’s highest priority, even when it comes to the quality of their partner’s work, which must meet established standards.

– Inission Lohja has met these requirements. The quality is good and their flexibility and agility in the business play an important role. Changed situations require quick responses and we have been satisfied with Inission Lojja’s ability to adapt, says Sundberg.

Close cooperation is everything
Surprises always occur, but with an open dialogue and good communication, the work of identifying challenges, finding solutions and implementing continuous improvements is simplified. In close cooperation, the local presence is also important for Murata as it facilitates visits to the supplier.

– Open communication and close cooperation are the core of our long-term partnership. We feel that Inission Lohja really wants to solve the problems in the best possible way. We learn from each other and move forward together, Sundberg concludes.

Megger and Inission – a success story

Background

Megger is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of test and measuring equipment for the electrical power industry and for electric installations. Cooperation with Inission began in 1986 and has grown since then and today Megger is among Inissions largest customers. Inission delivers essentially finished measuring instruments but also spare parts such as circuit boards.

A success story

It´s afternoon on Inission in Munkfors and it has been an intense day for Meggers buyer Moinul Khan and his colleagues who´s been visiting Inission for the day. For instance, Active problem solving and workshop according to LEAN has been on the schedule.

During a short break we take the opportunity to sit down with Moinul. Moinul has been responsible for purchases from Inission for four years and he says:
-The Cooperation with Inission is truly a success story. Together, in recent years, we have actively worked out an understanding and a logistics set-up that is second to none in the industry. Our relationships are across the board very good, it feels safe. We always say whats on our minds and I feel I can trust my contact Niklas one hundred percent.

Like many other customers Moinul also value Inissions high flexibility.
-I can change my schedule how I wish and thanks to our developed logistics structure I get the desired flexibility and a low stock formation. Thanks to my personal customer team on Inission I am always only one phone call from a major change.

Resources freed at Rolls-Royce

Inission frees up resources at Rolls-Royce

Kamewa in Kristinehamn started a collaboration with what was then EDC back in 1984. Since then, Kamewa has become Rolls-Royce, and the collaboration has developed into a highly valued relationship and a turnkey concept.

Background

Rolls-Royce is one of the world’s largest engine and power system manufacturers. Production in Kristinehamn focuses on ship propellers, waterjet engines and control systems.

Inission is a close partner in developing, designing and producing finished solutions for control and manoeuvre systems that are integrated into Rolls-Royce’s products.

Freeing up resources

“This is a very successful collaboration, one that frees up resources for us,” says Roland Groth of Rolls-Royce. “We can define the basic conditions in the form of dimensions, function, environmental requirements, EMC and physical demands. Inission then takes over and is responsible for the entire chain – from development to production and logistics.”

Good customer contacts

Roland Groth stresses that close, committed contact with the customer is positive for the collaboration.

“That’s one of the reasons we’re so delighted with Inission,” he says. “The fact that they have the expertise and the resources we require is of course another, and a fundamental aspect of our strong long-term co-operation.”
